Dr. Timothy Lee

Dr. Tim Lee joined St. Andrew and St. Joseph Bays Estuary Program (SASJBEP) in July 2024. Currently he is serving as a Postdoctoral Scholar on a multi-year collaborative project “C-STARS” (Collaborative Science to Assess Restoration Success), funded by the Florida Institute of Oceanography’s Florida RESTORE Act Centers of Excellence Program (FLRACEP) to assess the success of Living Shoreline projects across northwest Florida.

Prior to joining SASJBEP, he was a postdoctoral fellow at UNC Greensboro where he collaborated on an NSF-funded project to assess Food Chain Lengths of global rivers. Tim has ecological research experiences across the world, including but not limited to the Sea of Japan, Puget Sound, and U.S. east coast. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from East Carolina University, Master’s in Marine & Environmental Affairs from the University of Washington, and Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences from U.C. Berkeley. Tim has also been playing violin for nearly 30 years, and is also passionate about wildlife photography, long-distance running, and being an advocate for survivors of neurodegenerative diseases.
