Commissioner Daniel Raffield Commissioner, Bay County
Commissioner Daniel Raffield serves on the SASJBEP Policy Board as one of two Bay County representatives. He brings a lifelong connection to the waters and communities of Northwest Florida as a native of Gulf County and a graduate of Port St. Joe High School. Raffield grew up with deep ties to the commercial fishing industry where he spent time on his family’s fishing boats starting at a young age. These experiences helped shape his appreciation for the bays, waterways, and natural resources that support both the region’s economy and way of life.
Raffield’s career spans across sales, management, real estate and public service that has created a strong understanding of the challenges facing coastal communities including infrastructure needs, growth, economic development, and quality of life. He believes that protecting local natural resources while planning for future growth is essential to ensuring a strong future for Bay County and generations to follow.
As a Policy Board member, Raffield brings the perspective of someone whose family history and personal experiences are closely tied to the waters of the region. His background in both Gulf and Bay counties provides a strong appreciation for the importance of healthy bays, productive fisheries, and resilient coastal communities.
Looking ahead, Raffield remains supportive of efforts that protect water quality, strengthen coastal resilience, and preserve the natural resources that make Northwest Florida a special place to live, work, and raise a family.
